In reply to Rita. I agree with you. I actually don't recommend fish formulas neither in dry food or wet food. Cats with urinary sensitivities don't do well with it, especially males. Also, they provide mercury to the diet.

I tried the Pure Vita ocean fish canned food for my two cats. They wouldn’t eat it. I smelled it. Very strange smell. I seriously wanted to vomit. Dufficult to describe the smell but it was funky. Not funky stinky like how some cats like – just funky. Some healthy canned food smells like the actual food vs flavor additives (which cats like) so I sprinkle nutritional yeast on top or use Instinct Raw Boost toppers to get them to like the initial smell & then they’ll eat it. Didn’t work with this. Last – wish companies would include sodium content on their labels. Many “healthy”pet foods have tons of sodium.

I have tried several of the ‘healthy’ cat foods and my cat wouldn’t eat any of it. I have fed Nutri Source dog food for years and he would eat that so finally I wised up and got him some of their cat food and he loves it. Good isn’t any good if they won’t eat it.

In reply to Alan Winter. Hello Alan, the formulation depends on the stage of kidney problem. But I would not suggest dry foods for renal support diet since canned food is more suitable for that. Dry foods are meant to be used mixed with canned food for healthy active cats. Thanks for your question.
