How does this compare with the "Ultimate Protein" version?

It's top 5 ingredients are Chicken, Tapioca, Chicken fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid), Ground Flax Seed and Natural Flavor.

It said it is 95% protein from real chicken and No animal Meal, grain-free. "Cage-free Chicken Recipe" Guaranteed Analysis: Crude Protein 47%, Crude Fat 17% Crude fiber 3.0%
Moisture 10%
VitE 100 IU/KG etc

Seems like a slightly higher protein amount and lower fat

For diabetic cats any carbohydrate that causes high peaks in the blood sugar is not good. No grains, no potatoes, no tapioca. I suggest you to keep using the formula that a Vet recommends for your diabetic cat.
